ARCADIA (2022) is a short documentary, written and directed by Antonio Miucci. It's the homonymous extension of the photographic project.
The narrative develops around the empathic encounter between the director and Stefano Filipponi, singer-songwriter, performer, designer, friend.
This has triggered the urgency to create a Gesamtkunstwerk: a total work of art composed of an artist book and a short documentary about the human and artistic Stefano’s life path.
Through an existential study, the work aims to significantly deepen the fascinating and complex world that lives within the protagonist: what emerged was an incandescent and multifaceted spirit that comes to life in its artistic form, called Arcadia.
She performs in a macrocosm where art and fantasy, human light and darkness, theatrically and sensibly intertwine with each other. These essences give life to self-determination and the importance of vulnerability as a peculiar human characteristic. Stefano's vulnerability becomes a strong and bright spark of life: a burning Camp space of re-imagination and resistance, in which potential destinies and new narratives are born where One can inevitably be One and be Other, to be one and to be multiple.
ARCADIA reflects on self-expression, kindness and empathy, but most of all it’s about being sensitive to one’s own queerness which finds the strongest means to assert itself in bravery and desire.
